# Descrição do projeto

A descrição do projeto define dados específicos do local, gerados pelo projeto, que são únicos para o ecossistema, e para os Povos Indígenas e/ou comunidades locais que implementam o projeto. 

O cálculo dos VBCs está ligado de forma direta à presença de espécies indicadoras dentro dos limites do projeto e, por extensão, a um ecossistema conservado, não só para o habitat, mas também para as populações de biodiversidade. 

Assim, os projetos são recompensados não por atividades, nem por projeções, mas por resultados, de forma anual contínua. 

Os passos a seguir para um BCP bem-sucedido estão descritos na [Como começar](/methodology/pt-br/como-comecar.md) seção. Eles são intencionalmente simples porque a metodologia é orientada por resultados.
